Silver Price Rockets to Record High, Crosses ₹1.78 Lakh

New Delhi, December 1, 2025 – Silver futures on the MCX have surged to a new record high, crossing the ₹1.78 lakh per kilogram mark, driven by strong global and domestic factors.

Experts attribute the massive rally primarily to the anticipated interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve, which has weakened the US dollar. This, combined with a strong technical breakout in global markets and robust industrial demand for the metal, has created a bullish trend.

"Silver is in the limelight after strong industrial demand and continuous deficit of physical material for the last four years," noted commodity experts. The recent inclusion of silver in the US critical mineral list has also fueled investor interest.

Market analysts are now watching for the next major psychological milestone. They predict the March contract of silver is likely to test ₹1,85,000–₹1,90,000 this month, with the metal potentially hitting the ₹2,00,000 mark in the first quarter of 2026. This upward trajectory is supported by a significant, years-long consolidation period, confirming a long-term bullish outlook.

The surge in silver's price is also a reflection of shifting market dynamics, particularly in investor sentiment. As geopolitical uncertainties persist and concerns over traditional fiat currencies rise, investors are increasingly pivoting to precious metals as a secure hedge against inflation and market volatility. This flight to safety is enhancing silver's appeal beyond its industrial applications.

Furthermore, the technical breakout above long-term resistance levels has fueled chart-based speculation, inviting new capital and further strengthening the metal's bullish momentum. Experts note that this strong technical posture suggests the current uptrend is well-supported and indicates a fundamental shift in how silver is valued in the global commodities market.
